Accessibility
Trikona should work for every astrologer, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, large text or high contrast. Here is what we test today, what we have not tested yet, and how to tell us about a problem.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. We have not had an independent audit, so we do not claim full conformance.
What we test
- Automated accessibility checks (axe) on sign-in, Today, Chart, Clients and Settings, in light and dark themes, at phone and desktop sizes.
- Every main screen fits a 360-pixel-wide phone without sideways scrolling, and animations stop when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Keyboard use: a skip link to the main content, arrow keys between tabs, and dialogs that keep focus inside until you close them with Escape.
- North and South Indian chart diagrams name each house and its planets for screen readers, and planet positions are also listed in a table.
Known gaps
- We have not yet tested the phone apps by hand with VoiceOver (iPhone, iPad) or TalkBack (Android). That test is planned before the apps reach the stores.
- Automated checks find only some problems. Advanced panels, comparison views and printed consultation documents have not been checked in detail.
- Trikona's screens are in English and Hindi; chart data and classical citations stay in English. Sanskrit terms use diacritics, which some screen readers pronounce imperfectly. You can switch symbols to Devanagari in Settings, Defaults.
